Annual MSSEM/CoMAS meeting 2013

The annual MSSEM/CoMAS meeting on October 30st 2013 in Denver was a great event. Thanks to all who participated and a special thanks to the vendor representatives that were able to attend. It was good to see such a crowd at the Wynkoop Brewery in Denver! Following the dinner, Paul Carpenter from Washington University in St. Louis presented "Practical Guidelines for Microanalysis Using EDS and WDS".

A new name for our society?

Following a short announcement from our President, Heather Lowers, it was suggested that we work to rename the society and keep only a single name that would fully represent the microscopists and microanalysts from the Rocky Mountain region. The committee first suggested the following name: Rocky Mountain Microscopy & Analysis Society (RoMMAS), together with a new logo designed by our webmaster Julien Allaz (on the right; click image for a larger view or click here).

However, this new name and logo are not definitive! We would welcome any suggestions from our dearest members! Please, contact Heather if you would like to submit either a new name and/or a new logo!
